About the Puerto Rico AIDS Leadership Institute

AIDS United is pleased to announce its first ever Puerto Rico AIDS Leadership Institute.

Developed based on feedback from our grantee meeting in 2013, the Puerto Rico AIDS Leadership Institute is a six-session leadership development program for executive directors and/or leaders of community-based organizations serving vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS in Puerto Rico.

The purpose of the Puerto Rico AIDS Leadership Institute is to build professional, organizational and system wide capacity to prevent the transmission of HIV among vulnerable populations in Puerto Rico. Its objectives include: develop networks for information sharing, promote strategic partnerships and develop a cohort of advocates to work together to influence relevant HIV policy issues.

Program Components

Selected participants will be required to attend the full, 4-6 session program covering a variety of topics of immediate relevance and importance to today’s HIV prevention, care, and advocacy leaders. Topics to be covered include: fundraising, board development, policy advocacy, strategic planning and adapting to the changing health care reform environment.
