Training the Next Generation of AIDS Leaders and Activists

As the first and broadest-reaching national AmeriCorps program focusing specifically on HIV prevention and care, the AIDS United AmeriCorps Program delivers vital resources while training the next generation of AIDS leaders.

Over the past 16 years, the AIDS United AmeriCorps Program has trained and supported over 600 youth and adult members who share a passion for making a difference and saving lives. Partnering cities value the impact and energy of members who provide a variety of direct services where they are most needed. For the current program year (2011-2012), a total of 54 members have been placed in the following cities:

  • Albuquerque/Santa Fe, NM
  • Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC (and surrounding areas)
  • Chicago, IL
  • Detroit, MI
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • New Orleans, LA

Since 1994, the success and continued growth of the AIDS United AmeriCorps Program has been made possible through the unwavering support of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
