AIDS United Welcomes ViiV Healthcare’s Eric Dube to Its Board of Trustees

Head of ViiV Healthcare North America brings unique blend of corporate leadership and passion for public health

Washington, DC – AIDS United announced today the election of Eric Dube, head of North America for ViiV Healthcare, to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Dube brings nearly 20 years of pharmaceutical leadership experience to the Board and brings the total number of Trustees to 18, deepening the expertise in emerging and unmet needs of communities most affected by HIV and other chronic conditions across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Recently featured on the Financial Times’ list of “OUTstanding 100 LGBT+ Executives,” Mr. Dube has led multiple business units and product launches and has transformed business models to better address patient needs throughout his career. His professional focus on addressing unmet needs has also influenced his personal interests.  During his tenure at GSK, Eric was the co-sponsor of the Women’s Leadership Initiative employee resource group and various diversity leadership development programs and served on the Global LGBT+ Council. He currently represents ViiV Healthcare on the GSK US Race and Ethnicity Council. In each of these settings, he brought his deep understanding of how culture, gender, and ethnicity influence resilience in the LGBT community, which was the focus of his Ph.D. in Psychology at Cornell. Externally, he served as a founding member of the Board of Directors for Puentes de Salud, a non-profit promoting the health and wellness of Philadelphia’s Latino immigrant population.

“I believe that AIDS United’s unique blend of grantmaking, capacity building, and advocacy efforts are critical to helping us accelerate the response for the communities most disproportionately affected by HIV,” said Mr. Dube. “I am proud to join the AIDS United Board and work alongside and learn from the incredible group of Trustees.”

"Eric brings professional and personal perspectives that will prove invaluable to AIDS United’s Board of Trustees – and we look forward to working with him,” said Dr. Robert “Bobby” Hilliard, Jr., chair of the Board.

“We are thrilled to bring Eric on board and will no doubt benefit greatly from his unique blend of private sector experience and passion for public health and serving the underserved,” added Jesse Milan, Jr., AIDS United president, and CEO. “We are in challenging times, and the strong leadership of our Trustees is critical to our success as we work to end the HIV epidemic in the U.S.”
