The Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship prepares the next generation of public health leaders through hands-on experience in HIV advocacy!
The Fellowship gave me a platform to begin my career in Public Policy
and Advocacy on behalf of people living with and at risk for HIV.
- Nathan Schaefer, Summer 2005 Fellow
Fellows are based in Washington, DC, and dedicate their time learning about and engaging with the legislative process under the guidance of the AIDS United Policy Department. Fellows attend meetings on and off Capitol Hill, collaborate closely with colleagues representing organizations located across the country, and receive one-on-one mentorship from an experienced and passionate staff.
We offer three fellowships a year: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Start time and duration of the fellowship is based on the needs of AIDS United and the schedule of the candidate. Typically, the fellowships schedule is as follows:
Spring: January - April
Summer: May - August
Fall: September - December
