Comprehensive sex education programs have been shown to effectively delay sexual activity, increase condom use, and decrease the number of sexual partners. These programs are a critical tool in preventing HIV, other sexually transmitted infections, and unintended pregnancies. People of all ages, and particularly our nation’s young people, need medically accurate and age appropriate sexual health information to help them make healthy decisions.
AIDS United supports state and federal policies that advance comprehensive sexuality education and that promote a public health perspective on sexual health.
