Liam Cabal
Senior Program Manager

As the senior program manager for three initiatives, Liam Cabal spends his time working on Southern REACH, Partnering and Communicating Together (PACT), and the Positive Organizing Project (POP). Since he was 16 and growing up as a gay youth in Flint, Michigan, Liam has been involved or interested in sexual health, specifically HIV/AIDS. The work he does now for the PACT initiative allows him to work closely with LGBTQ organizations around the country to help them better integrate HIV prevention and awareness into their existing work — something that resonates with him personally as a gay man who continues to see his community affected by HIV. His favorite part of Southern REACH, a grant-making initiative that supports policy advocacy in the southeastern region of the United States, is witnessing the inspiring work being done on the ground. Liam’s friends are like family to him, so when he’s not at work, he spends a lot of time with his friends and his other family — his nonpartisan cats, Franklin and Roosevelt.
