Marvin Anderson

Program Assistant

Marvin Anderson has served community for the past 15 years as a community empowerment advocate, speaker and lifestyle development coach. He began his journey in his home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His passion to build individuals to live beyond life’s challenges and circumstances has impacted the lives of many including his own. It was Marvin’s call to empower others that led him to walk in full authenticity as a person thriving with HIV. In 2018, several years after struggling with the shame and stigma of his HIV, Marvin became empowered to become an HIV Advocate after attending The Louisiana Community Health Worker Institute facilitated by the Tulane University School of Medicine. Marvin quickly began to evolve in Public Health as an advocate and began working at a local CBO as a peer navigator for a short time before becoming the PR and Communications Manager and Community Engagement facilitator at the Southern AIDS Coalition.

In addition, Marvin has continued to expand his Public Health and HIV work by serving many platforms as campaign ambassador and keynote speaker. In 2018 he also became the founder of The Stigmocracy Organization, that focuses on educating, empowering and advocating to end HIV stigma.

Marvin is the author of two lifestyle empowerment books, You Can Do This and For Winner’s Only. In his spare time, he enjoys all things outdoors which includes hiking, whitewater rafting and zip-lining. It encompasses Marvin’s heart of empowerment to include HIV advocacy and empowerment to his platform to continue to continue to fulfill his universal call to herald the message that Living Beyond HIV is attainable.
