Interim Director of Communications

Meico Marquette Whitlock is a communications and technology consultant for non-profit and public-sector organizations. He helps organizations leverage information and communications technology to improve public health.

Meico is also a sought-after trainer and speaker on mindfulness, technology, and work-life balance who has been featured on ABC News, Fox 5, Radio One, and on the main stage at events such as the Nonprofit Technology Conference.

In his previous career, he was Associate Director for Communications for the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) where he established NASTAD’s communications department and directed its day-to-day operations. Meico has worked with a wide range of organizations to leverage technology to respond the domestic HIV and hepatitis epidemics, including the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP), Young Black Gay Men’s Leadership Initiative (YBGLI), the National Black Gay Men’s Advocacy Coalition (NBGMAC), HIV.gov, and John Snow Inc.

Meico holds a Master’s Degree in Information Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Spanish from Morehouse College. He loves salsa dancing and makes an amazing vegetarian chili.
