Edgar Mendez

Manager of Clinical Health Services | Cascade AIDS Project | Portland, OR

Edgar Mendez serves as the Manager of Clinical Health Services for the largest AIDS Service Organization in the State of Oregon: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP).

In his role, Edgar manages HIV/STI clinical services, insurance and benefits navigation, and overall safety and compliance for CAP’s testing programs.

Before working at Cascade AIDS Project, Edgar was a long standing volunteer. He started in 2006, as a peer educator with CAP's youth program 'Teen2Teen'. Eventually Edgar would return as staff for the same program, providing comprehensive, inclusive and accurate education around HIV & STI prevention, healthy relationships, and gender identity to a variety of schools and community groups across Oregon.

A native of Albuquerque New Mexico, he’s lived in Portland Oregon most his life. In 2013-2014 Edgar served as a youth scholar with the National Minority AIDS Council. Edgar attended Willamette University where he graduated with his B.A in Politics in 2012.
