Southern AIDS Coalition and North Carolina AIDS Action Network featured in News & Views

Christina Adeleke, communications and development coordinator at North Carolina AIDS Action Network, and Nic Carlisle, executive director at Southern AIDS Coalition, share some successes and challenges to addressing HIV in the South during an interview with Chris Fitzsimmon, as part of NC Policy Watch's News and Views series. Adeleke and Carlisle explain that despite significant policy victories such as the Affordable Care Act and landmark scientific advancements that make living well with HIV possible, "the South is in danger of being left behind."

Adeleke and Carlisle pointed out issues such as profound fear and stigma, lack of syringe services programs, and the failure to expand Medicaid as challenges faced throughout the region.

North Carolina AIDS Action Network and Southern AIDS Coalition are AIDS United Southern REACH grantees and the Southern AIDS Coalition is an AIDS United Public Policy Committee member.
