My First AIDSWatch

As a first timer attending AIDSWatch, I must say I was very impressed by the way I was made to feel so welcomed by everyone! I was in awe most of the time just watching such an amazing group of advocates working so well together! As a member of PWN I was very impressed witnessing how all the different organizations worked towards a common goal.

I would first like to thank my friend and PWN Sister Resistor, Barb Cardell for lining up Rocky Mountain Cares and ARCW for making it possible for me to attend the 25th anniversary AIDSWatch. I also want thank everyone who helped make AIDSWatch a success and such a life changing event for me as well as many others! I know now that I can help change lives by speaking up and out to help educate others. This event helped me realize that we have a lot of work to do in the fight to end HIV/AIDS and we are just the organizations that can get it done!

As far as advice, I do believe it’s very important to wear comfortable shoes for the Hill visits - which by the way went very well for team Colorado! Just remember Congress works for us! They are human beings with hearts and souls and your stories can make a difference! We must rise up and keep fighting for our rights and the rights of others!

Thank you all again for all you did to make #AIDSWatch a true success!
