AIDS United transitions to telework; cancels work-related travel

AIDS United has been closely following the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic. We must, as a leading public health organization, act out of an abundance of caution and model safe behaviors and practices, all with the health of our staff and the well-being of our constituents, partners and communities as our no. 1 priority.

Therefore, in addition to our earlier announcement transitioning AIDSWatch to a virtual event this year, AIDS United has suspended all work-related staff travel. Our office-based staff will also work remotely, joining the roughly 25% of our staff who already work virtually from five states and Puerto Rico.

Both travel and teleworking measures are in place until at least April 3.

Preparations for AIDSWatch 2020 as a virtual event this year are well underway, and we hope that if you haven't already registered, you are considering joining us virtually March 30

During this pandemic, AIDS United will continue monitoring the situation closely. Our management team will meet regularly to reevaluate the situation and make adjustments as needed to our telework and travel suspension directives. We will do everything in our power to ensure that our work continues and our people and colleagues are safe.

Social distancing, according to both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, is an important strategy for protecting the most vulnerable among us. We will maintain our professionalism and strive as always to deliver great work and outcomes for our funders, partners, constituents, grantees and members.

AIDS United is open and in this uncertain time, we will continue working for you.
