Meaningful involvement of people with HIV/AIDS (MIPA) is about ensuring that the communities most affected by HIV are involved in decision-making, at every level of the response. MIPA requires dedication, planning and assessment, organizational buy-in, and a champion to help usher its development and continued assessment. This work takes time but the investment in MIPA is critical, doable, and well worth the effort.
