AIDS United collects information that you choose to supply us. If you subscribe to an e-newsletter, request additional information about AIDS United, submit a donation online, or participate in any of the other services on the AIDS United Web site that require personal information, we may request your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address in order to respond to your inquiries. AIDS United may collect and store the information you choose to provide us to send you information about AIDS United and AIDS United’s partners and third parties from time to time. If you make a donation to AIDS United and elect to pay online, AIDS United will collect the necessary financial information. AIDS United will not disclose financial information except as necessary to fulfill users’ donation requests. AIDS United collects such financial information in a secure manner and discards such financial information after processing.
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting.
Donations are acknowledged with an immediate confirmation email. In addition, donors receive an acknowledgment letter sent within 7 days of the donation via US Mail outlining their tax options under IRS regulations. All donations are final.
If you provide your mobile phone number, you consent to receiving SMS messages from AIDS United regarding our fundraising activities and events. You may opt out of these communications at any time by replying “STOP” to any message. Standard message and data rates may apply.
AIDS United Action Alerts are created with a technology called EveryAction. EveryAction allows AIDS United to create advocacy forms as a tool for state and local campaigns. We customize campaign templates, and the form collects address information from individuals who submit the form. The information automates the message to go to their congressional targets (e.g., their state senator).
