Register now for the Midwest Harm Reduction Institute

Registration is open for the 2023 Midwest Harm Reduction Institute.  This virtual institute will support Midwest health departments and community-based organizations with enhancing, learning and strengthening skills and strategies related to:
  • Region-specific recommendations for innovative harm reduction practices.
  • Recommendations for better practices around self-care for harm reductionists.
  • A space for networking and peer interactions.
  • Recommendations for community advocacy and engagement within priority populations.
On Wednesday, March 29, at 2 p.m. EDT, our first session will be to launch the Mutual Aids Support System (MASS) by the Never Alone Project. MASS is an e-commerce style website aggregating unused, donated or otherwise free supplies available within the U.S. for harm reduction organizations, SSPs and solo harm reduction practitioners who operate without sufficient funds to supply their participants with needed safer use supplies. During the webinar, Jes Cochran of the Never Alone Project and creator of the project, will provide a demo and overview of the MASS platform and take questions. Our programming on the second and third days of the Institute will be from 1-4:30 p.m. EDT. On March 30, we will discuss innovative harm reduction practices and strategies. On the last day, our sessions will be focused on networking and self-care within the harm reduction space.  To register and view a full copy of the agenda, visit bit.ly/auharmreduxThis publication was made possible by cooperative agreement PS19-1904 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
