Last April, We Are United, A program initiative of AIDS United travel across four southern Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) for AIDS United's HBCU Spring Tour to commemorate National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on April 10 and National Transgender HIV Awareness Day on April 18.
"It has been said that youth will lead the way and knowledge is power, said Obrenka Thompson Clayborn, Program Manager for AIDS United. "Partnering with HBCU student groups across the south allowed us an insider view into how the CDC's Together Take Me Home campaign could enhance the student sexual and social experiences."
