AIDS United HBCU Spring Tour

Last April, We Are United, A program initiative of AIDS United travel across four southern Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) for AIDS United's HBCU Spring Tour to commemorate National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on April 10 and National Transgender HIV Awareness Day on April 18.

The four spots on the HBCU tour included Xavier University, Stillman College, Texas Southern University, and Miles College. During this tour, AIDS United staff collaborated with students to activate their campus with HIV education and awareness pop-events with the aim to connect students to resources via CDC's Together Take Me Home campaign and resource site.   "It has been said that youth will lead the way and knowledge is power, said Obrenka Thompson Clayborn, Program Manager for AIDS United. "Partnering with HBCU student groups across the south allowed us an insider view into how the CDC's Together Take Me Home campaign could enhance the student sexual and social experiences."  If you are around any of our HBCU Spring tour stops, join us!
