The Right Hit

The past few years have brought a barrage of attention to drug use from local and national journalists in the United States. Syringe services programs around the country are finding that the national dialogue on drug use and drug poisoning is a double-edged sword, bringing media and community attention that can be both helpful and harmful. The Right Hit is divided into four sections: common stories we see in the media, notes from a journalist, notes from a harm reduction activist, and tools for developing an effective media strategy. This toolkit can assist syringe services programs to publicly discuss the benefits and challenges of their programs and address drug-related stigma in the media. We have included a recording and slides from the webinar launch of The Right Hit below.
